[Mod-Post] Introducing the mod and the com

hi there!

so you found this place - that makes me very happy, and I bid you a warm welcome! glad to see you.

you might already have noticed, that in comparison to most coms out there, this playground is a little bit different and a little bit messy (prompting section i'm looking at you)- the reason for that is me.

me, here means [livejournal.com profile] smirkingcat and i have no experience in moding a com, i have experience in forums with both small and huge crowds, but that also mostly was in german speaking fandom, and very little in english fandom.

before i opened this com i tried to think of all the ways most of the awesome fests work and tried to think about what i want to create here.

then i set to work, in my dark secret hide-out and made plans, when the plans were solidified and i felt a little confidence i sought out the opinion of ppl not only longer engaged in fandom but also so much more knowledgeable than me so i have to say a huge thank you to:

[livejournal.com profile] smallbrownfrog who not only helped me to think all around and inside out the box, but who also is very knowledgeable in the way of fandom, and has an amazing way to express what i want to say in ways so that everyone can understand them! thank you so much dear, you are indeed the best!

[livejournal.com profile] capitu because when it comes to fandom- she is my go to person, not only as the first person i actively engaged here in hp but also in all other stuff- she is just so welcoming and nice and engaging and brilliant and she too helped me a lot! thanks for being always there and never bothered!

and last but not least [livejournal.com profile] vaysh for her help and input and assistance and for being nice and helpful and all around very amazing! thanks for never minding me writing you!

i'm also a number and statistic maniac thats why i force you to put up with so much stuff, so i can make shiny and nice statistics at the end of a year. i feel i am mean because of it, but then again i hope you will simply deal with it. i really appreciate your patience with me and my strange ways of saying and doing things

i am also very hopeful that like in all the other lj-coms we will get on marvelously and have loads of fun and can enjoy awesome created fan-work together! i can't wait to see what we all can create! and i hope very much that you will have a great time here!

my goal was to make it engaging but also low pressure and low stress - for that reason prompts can be taken very often and through all the rounds and the writing periods are so long- because you can start writing as soon as a prompt you like appears- you just have to wait with the posting

i also wanted to give you a chance to engage with all your talents and all your feels, to have a go- to place when you have a feeling but no idea, a character but no story in mind and hope that you may find what you are seeking here!

if you ever have any difficulty at all here in this com- ever so small or really, really huge, just let me know: pm me here as the mod and i shall get back at you for as soon as i can. if i think your issue is for all of importance i will make an announcement here so that ppl can look it up and i dont have to answer the same question again

at the moment and for the foreseeable future this is a one-cat- show and i will try my hardest to get to you as soon as i can, and to work as fast as i can to do what is still needed to make this com better, to integrate your ideas , when the meet the coms needs, and to make it into a nice and shiny play ground. BUT it will take me some time and life has a tendency to just happen, so some things might need longer than intended.
