If you find you have a problem, a questions, or a suggestion for the com- then this is the post you reply to.
I shall try to answer you to the best to my abilities, and I am always open for discussions.
The plan for this post is to help me to figure out if there is need for, and if yes how to put together a FAQ in the long run, but for that I need FAQ first, so please, ask away!
However, if you find yourself with a question, that you don't want to ask here "in the open", but still need an answer too, feel free to pm this mod account- and i will get back to you via pm too.
Also if I have managed to do everything right, anonymous comments should be allowed.

I may have to consider a: "preferred time" for the prompt- form?
I kept the prompt- form as simple as it is now, so that as much as would be possible is open to interpret into the prompt, I shall reconsider it for the 2ed prompting run?

Date: 2016-02-02 07:02 pm (UTC)Maybe Slash/Gen/Het/Fem rather than the eras would be simpler? It's more straight forward and I think there's more people out there who will be looking to write for a certain gender dynamic than for a specific era combination. As someone who writes only slash but has very few off-limit pairings, I will have to read all prompts on every post to find the one I like best. So slash/gen/fem/het potentially means people would have less to sift through to find a prompt that suits them?
Also I personally find the prompt template a bit OTT. It felt a bit more like I was filling out a gift template than a prompt. For me, the point of prompting is to inspire someone to do something with an idea that I wouldn't have thought of, so being too specific with do's and don't's is rather counterproductive. That might just be me though!

I once had a Slash/Gen/Het- Form, in the plan, while I disregarded it (for the moment) is because the idea for this com came with someone telling me: "Uhhh I totally want to write this character, but I have no clue about which story" and the plan was to make a com- where you can go to, with your character in mind and search all the prompts concerning this character- and then because I didn't want people to go through tons and tons of prompts I figured it's best to make a separation of the characters- and I went with the one that seems obvious to me and took the books and the school times. Mind you I was warned fairly often that 4 prompting posts are way to much, and I agree, but I didn't know any better way (still don't)
But I totally get where you are coming from with now you have to scroll through tons of (hopefully soon to be there) prompts and change posts...
I AM taking your suggestion into consideration, because it's my concern too - but like where would I put three-somes in? Like the one where there is first a gender on gender and then the swap? (That is one of the points I couldn't figure out)
Maybe it would help you if in the Subject-Line people have to state what kind of relationship they prefer?
As for the prompt- template: it first had two lines: Prompter and Prompt
- but then I had to considere- that they people want to read the stories for their prompts, but also that there will be some things the will not like to read- so I added the rest - you can totally not fill it out and just delete it (i can also now in this round add the short version for people who are not easy squicked and who just want to leave a prompt- would that be a compromise that may work for you?
Like a prompt template for the weak-hearted and one for the laid-back, give me everything?
I totally want to make your stay here as awesome as you envision it!
Also thank your for your suggestions, your comment and your prompts!

Date: 2016-02-03 10:11 am (UTC)As for the template, I think it depends on the reason people are prompting. My prompts tend to be vague because I want to see someone else take the idea to places I may not have thought of (otherwise, I'd just save them to write myself) but I've seen others who give very detailed prompts and obviously have the overall feel of the fic in mind quite clearly. Some people also seem to go between the two, and sometimes it depends on the fest. I think it's probably that people get much more specific with their OTPs because they're protective of their head canon. Maybe templates should have an OTP/OT3 warning box or something LOL.
More prompts will be forthcoming!

Date: 2016-02-03 12:26 pm (UTC)and 2ed: I will totally add the the slash/het/femm- slash line- because you are very right- it will help with searching- I just hope the folks will bear with me and making everything more complicated to start out with- but later on it is easier that way - we both see that, don't we XD
